Research in Thalassemia Disease

The Vidarbha Sindhi Vikas Parishad, founded eight years ago under the leadership of Dr. Vinky Rughwani as its Founder President, works across all 11 districts of Vidarbha for the welfare of the Sindhi community as well as socially and economically backward sections of society. The organization focuses on creating social awareness and promoting all-round progress, particularly by encouraging youth above 18 who are illiterate or have discontinued education to continue through private examinations or open universities. With support from Non-Resident and Resident Indians, the Sun Shine Trust was established with its head office in Mumbai, and Dr. Rughwani has been a member of its Nagpur branch for the last 10 years. The Trust helps economically weaker members of the community to become self-reliant by supporting small businesses such as goods-carrying trolleys, pedal rickshaws, and stitching machines, while also providing financial aid and guidance to promising students for higher education. Many poor students have benefitted, achieving higher education and securing employment in India and abroad. In addition, the Trust assists poor patients by arranging free medical treatment, and through Dr. Rughwani’s efforts, it has gained wide popularity across Vidarbha, raising the standard of living and bringing hope to countless families.
